The American multinational Cognizant, which specialises in professional consultancy services for businesses, has opened its first Cognizant European customer success centre in Barcelona. The Catalan Government Secretary of Telecommunications, Cybersecurity and Digital Society, Jordi Puigneró, opened the new centre this Wednesday in Hospitalet de Llobregat. The center will support clients in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Holland and the Nordic countries, amongst others.
Cognizant’s investment project in Barcelona received the support of the Catalan Government via Catalonia Trade & Investment, the Catalan Government agency for business competitiveness.
Santosh Thomas, President, Global Growth Markets at Cognizant, said: "We chose Barcelona as a regional hub due to the fact that it is an attractive location for large companies and international startups and has become an important European technology centre". Thomas added that Barcelona "attracts a huge pool of local and international, multi-lingual talent, and hosts major events such as the Mobile World Congress with infrastructure that supports growth and encourages investment".
