The new plant, covering 10 hectares, will be the first to manufacture polyurethane foams on the Iberian Peninsula, which will then be exported to over 70 countries.
The Wolf Group multinational, one of Europe's leading manufacturers and distributors of chemical products and systems for construction, has invested 12 million euros and created 50 new jobs with its newly opened factory in Gavà (Barcelona). This investment project has received support from the Government of Catalonia through ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment - the agency for business competitiveness of the Ministry for Business and Labour.
The new plant, covering 10 hectares, will be the first to manufacture polyurethane foams on the Iberian Peninsula, destined for the construction sector. The Minister for Business and Labour, Roger Torrent, the Mayor of Gavà, Gemma Badia, Wolf Group’s founder, Jaan Puusaag, and Sergi Baqués, Managing Director of Wolf Group Ibérico, opened the new facilities this Wednesday.

In his speech, Minister Torrent celebrated the inauguration of the new plant "because of its strategic value, being the first polyurethane foam factory in Spain; because it incorporates advanced technologies and because it is a project with growth potential, based on sustainability and innovation". For all these reasons, he assured that "we have accompanied it from the Government, strengthening the Catalan industrial network and boosting the economy of Barcelona, and in particular of Gavà". The Minister of Business and Labour recalled that the government's objective is to "promote the reindustrialization of Catalonia" with the aim of "recovering the industrial weight in the production model of our country". A bet "that we hope that in the coming years, it will have continuity because it is vital for the economy of the country", he said.

In this regard, Wolf Group founder Jaan Puusaag emphasized that "industrial companies are significant employers, as they involve all social groups and contribute to regional development". Meanwhile, the company's CEO, Peeter Tohver, pointed out that with this project, "we anticipate an increase in market share in Europe and a boost in foam sales".
The new high-tech factory, located in Gavà (Barcelona), can produce over 70 foam combinations in the initial phase alone, with a projected output of more than 5 million units in the first year. In fact, out of Gavà, Wolf Group will export its production to over 70 countries. The company runs 5 factories and employs over 400 workers worldwide.
