Scopely has been named one of TIME100’s Most Influential Companies for the second year in a row (2024 and 2025), and is the #1 mobile games company in the world (by revenue) outside of China.
Barcelona plays a central role in Scopely’s global strategy. The city is home to the headquarters of Playgami, the company’s proprietary technology platform, as well as its global creative services team, Flamed. From here, Scopely operates successful titles like Stumble Guys, Scrabble, and Yahtzee, and is developing new games that are set to launch in the coming years. “As these games continue to make progress, we expect to grow the headcount”, says Ferreira.
Catalonia has established itself as one of Europe’s most dynamic videogame ecosystems. With more than 200 videogame companies and a strong focus on innovation, the region combines local talent with international appeal. Ferreira highlighted: “We visited a number of European countries and it was in Barcelona where we found a really strong talent pool,” along with a quality of life that attracts professionals from all over the world. “People love coming to Barcelona for the lifestyle. It’s international, vibrant, full of culture, and at the same time, a cutting-edge tech and gaming ecosystem.”
Scopely’s journey in Catalonia has been supported from the beginning by Catalonia Trade & Investment. “Even before we decided to build our hub here, they were instrumental in helping us understand the ecosystem,” said Ferreira. “They’ve always opened doors and helped us navigate every stage of growth.”
