Barcelona has been ranked as one of the top 10 most desirable cities to work in, according to the Decoding Global Talent 2024 report by the Boston Consulting Group. The report identifies Barcelona as the 8th most attractive city for professionals seeking employment opportunities.
This report provides the results of a study of 150,000 people in 188 countries, which tells us where people will move for work and why. The most common reason people relocate is economic, and they choose their destinations based on job opportunities.

Top 10 most attractive cities in the world to work in
These cities have been ranked based on how people who are willing to move for work choose a destination, such as job prospects, quality of life, and cultural experiences. So the top 10 cities that made it to the list of the most attractive cities to work in around the world are:
- London.
- Amsterdam.
- Dubai.
- Abu Dhabi.
- New York.
- Berlin.
- Singapore.
- Barcelona.
- Tokyo.
- Sydney.
London ranks the first city. Amsterdam continues to be the number-two destination metropolis, and the Middle Eastern cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which have gained popularity in recent years, rank third and fourth. New York returns to the top five, and several US cities made it to the top 30 as newcomers. In addition to such classic continental European cities as Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, Madrid, Zurich, and Vienna, the list features nine Asia-Pacific destinations, three of them—Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney—in the top ten.
