felip puig meets with around 30 foreign companies established in catalonia
22 Jul 2015
The Minister of Enterprise and Labour, Felip Puig, the Secretary for Enterprise and Competitiveness, Pere Torres, and the CEO of ACCIO, Núria Betriu, celebrated a working dinner with some 30 foreign companies that either invested or established themselves in Catalonia with the support of the Catalan government between 2010 and 2013. These companies are part of the some 180 firms that Catalonia Trade & Investment – the Catalan government department for the attraction of foreign investment – assisted with their investment projects in Catalonia over that period.
During the dinner, Felip Puig showed his appreciation to the executives present for their trust in Catalonia over the years. This trust has led to new investments and to the creation of wealth and employment, with most of this occurring within a context of stiff competition with other locations. The Minister also showed an interest in their personal experiences as well as in any future projects they may have, now that they have been in Catalonia for some years.
In 2015, ACCIO’s department for foreign investment attraction celebrates 30 years at the service of foreign companies. From 1985 to 2015, it has helped to introduce 844 investment projects in Catalonia, representing a productive investment of 8,143 million euros and the creation of almost 40,000 direct places of work. At present, Catalonia Trade & Investment has over 250 potential investment projects under study.
