Yaskawa Ibérica has invested €3 million in the new facilities and plans to double its production reaching €30 million by 2027.

Japanese company Yaskawa, a pioneering technology company in designing, manufacturing, and developing robotics and industrial automation solutions, inaugurated its new headquarters in an institutional event held in the company's new facilities in Viladecans, Barcelona.

Yaskawa Ibérica aims to double its production in the coming years, reaching 30 million euros in 2027 and plans to carry out a growth plan in the territory that will allow it to increase its production, create new jobs, and strengthen its training area.

The company has invested 3 million euros in the new facilities, tripling the extension of its previous headquarters. The new 3,500 m2 production area also includes a showroom and the Yaskawa Academy, a center that offers specialized courses for product training.

“The new headquarters in Catalonia and Spain are a milestone for us, enabling us to strengthen our market position and meet the increasing demand for automation solutions in production processes”

Laurent Bodin, Managing Director of Yaskawa Ibérica

The facilities, located in Viladecans (Barcelona), were inaugurated in a ceremony presided over by Lauren Bodin, Managing Director of Yaskawa Ibérica, several Yaskawa representatives and authorities from the Japanese Government, accompanied by the Secretary of Business and Competitiveness of the Government of Catalonia, Albert Castellanos, and the Mayor of Viladecans, Carles Ruíz among others.

According to figures from the World Robot Report of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), the demand for industrial robots and cobots has broken records, with worldwide robot installations growing by 10%, reaching 570,000 units by 2022. In Europe, the increase has been 24%, placing Spain in the fourth position of countries with the most industrial robotics installations and among the 15 countries with the highest robot density in the world, with demand expected to continue to increase.

At the event, Laurent Bodin emphasized that "the inauguration of the new headquarters in Catalonia and Spain is a milestone for us, as it allows us to continue strengthening our position in the market and respond to an industry that increasingly demands more solutions and is betting on the implementation of automation solutions for their production processes".

Globally, the multinational generates annual sales of more than 3.7 billion euros and employs 15,000 people worldwide. Furthermore, with over 540,000 Motoman industrial robots installed, the company is considered the number one manufacturer in this sector.
