Unilever opens a Barcelona hub to provide global legal services

The consumer goods and food company Unilever will be establishing a new hub in Barcelona to offer legal services worldwide.

The new center will carry out services such as managing legal operations, drafting NDAs (confidentiality agreements), contracts, and data privacy risk assessment, among others. 

The hub’s goal is to improve the way in which Unilever provides legal services while taking into account that the company seeks to incorporate the possibilities of AI as a way to optimize work processes.

“We have enough space in our offices in the Viladecans Business Park complex to house this 'Legal Powerhouse", says Marta González-Mesones, Managing Director of Unilever Spain. “We are starting to recruit both in Spain and abroad”, she adds. 

In the words of the Managing Director, “Spain and specifically Barcelona is a very attractive location, not only for the climate, but for the talent, universities, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem”.

In addition to Barcelona, the legal hub will be deployed in two other global centers located in Mexico City and Bangalore (India), with the aim of benefiting from local talent and creating an opportunity to develop the next generation of legal talent.
