The MWC 2019 brings together over 109,000 visitors from 200 countries in Barcelona

The Mobile World Congress 2019 (MWC) gathered in Barcelona over 109,000 visitors from 198 countries, a record attendance. The most important event in the mobile industry, held from February 25th to 28th at Fira de Barcelona - Gran Via in Hospitalet de Llobregat, brought together more than 2,400 companies which showcased the latest technology, products and services in this sector.
According to the GSMA, over 55% of this year’s attendees held senior-level positions, including more than 7,900 CEOs. This year, the congress focused on topics regarding Intelligent Connectivity, including 5G networks, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and big data.
Moreover, 77 Catalan companies have participated with a stand at the congress, through the different spaces of 1,000m2 enabled by the Catalan Government. This is the largest presence of Catalan companies in the MWC facilitated by the Catalan Government.
4YFN, the congress for startups
Alongside the MWC, the 4YFN (Four Years From Now) brought together more than 23,000 people, including startups, investors, corporations and public institutions with the aim of connecting and launch new innovative projects. The Catalan Government also facilitated the participation of 33 Catalan startups in 4 Years From Now (4YFN).
