Toro Development Limited, the Taiwan based company which specialises in digital wallet platforms such as mWallet, is due to open its R+D+i facility and European operations base in the Catalan capital in the coming year after having considered other choices in France and the Netherlands. In the end, the pull of being in the Mobile World Capital proved a decisive factor in Toro Development Limited choosing the World Hub of mobile phones to develop mobile apps along with its other European projects.
Agustín Cordón, vice-president of the executive commission of MWCapital, underlined that the company is “a benchmark firm worldwide in development of solutions and applications in the field of smartphone payment systems,” as well as that of transforming mobile devices into digital wallets. He also went on to add that, “the choice of Barcelona and as such the MWCapital by Toro as its European location goes to show the industrial potential of the project.”
This project has received support from the Catalan inward investment organisation, Invest in Catalonia.
