The Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) audiovisual fair welcomed around 58,107 attendees from 155 countries in its latest edition in Barcelona.
Mike Blackman, ISE's managing director commented: "It's been an extraordinary week and it's hugely gratifying for us to look back and realize we've delivered an exceptional show for our industry and the wonderful city of Barcelona. We've had unprecedented visitor levels to the show, so much inspiring content and features on display".
73 Catalan companies participated in ISE, holding more than 8,000 business meetings, according to ACCIÓ- Catalonia Trade & Investment. Thanks to these meetings and visits held during the event, these companies expect to generate more than 8 million euros in business volume in the next 12 months.
58% of the meetings were with foreign companies, displaying the fair's international nature, while 43% of Catalan companies closed some agreements during the congress.
The Minister of Business and Labour, Roger Torrent, highlighted: "The fact that ISE is held in Catalonia brings to light the impact it has on the productive sector". "ISE is the best international event for Catalan companies to present their technology to the world, in a sector of major technological relevance such as audiovisual", he added.
According to Torrent, "The audiovisual sector is already equivalent to 2.9% of Catalonia's GDP and generates more than 32,000 jobs: in the upcoming years, we will see how ISE will become a platform to accelerate the growth of this sector and its positioning on a global scale".
