
HP opens new 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing Center in Catalonia

American ICT company HP has launched a 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Catalonia. The 14,000m2 lab, located next to HP’s current offices near Barcelona, will coordinate 25 different centers the company has around the world in Oregon, California, Washington and Singapore, among others.
HP currently employs more than 2,300 professionals of over 60 different nationalities in its offices in Catalonia and has 750 researchers and engineers working in 3D specialized R&D. It produces over a hundred patents a year, which places this location as the most important HP center outside the USA.
At the inauguration, Christoph Schell, President of 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing at HP Inc, said “HP’s new 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing Center of Excellence is one of the largest and most advanced 3D printing and digital manufacturing research and development centers on earth”. The new Center of Excellence unites hundreds of experts in systems engineering, data intelligence, software, materials science, design, and 3D printing and digital manufacturing applications
