Haribo expands Cornellà de Terri plant in Girona by 25% creating 100 jobs

The multinational haribo has expanded its plant in cornellà de terri in gerona by 25%, which has led to the creation of 100 new jobs, as the firm has now switched all production from its alicante facility to girona.
the new section of the production plant was opened by the president of the catalan government, artur mas, who highlighted the expansion plans of the firm and underlined his commitment to ensuring his administration’s fullest collaboration in the company’s future expansion, due to be completed in the coming 2–3 years. “we wish to remain on the closest possible terms with economic and industrial activity, which will in turn lead to job creation and greater prosperity,” mas pointed out.
holger lackhoff, haribo’s general director for marketing and sales in spain and portugal explained that the plant in cornellà de terri currently makes 25,000 tonnes of gums and jellies per year, employing a workforce of 520 throughout spain, 450 of whom work in girona alone.
haribo españa has grown at a rate of 15% per year of the last 15 years, doubling sales across the country in that time. “we’re growing despite the crisis and everything we’ve put into practice so far here has paid off handsomely,” added mr. lackhoff.
haribo has also enjoyed the supported and expert advice of invest in catalonia for the length of the entire project.
