French it consultant sopra group to expand its barcelona office for the european market

Sopra group, which is engaged in technology consulting, systems integration & the development of applications, will serve all of europe from barcelona.
the french itc consulting company sopra group has enlarged its barcelona office, which will add 200 new jobs in the two coming years. the investment to enable this expansion is of half a million euros, and the project has been assisted by invest in catalonia, the foreign investment agency of the government of catalonia.
the barcelona staff consisted until now of 300 people, mainly dedicated to the local market. with the expansion of the centre of the catalan capital, which will be strengthened with 200 new engineers, the french company will reinforce the services offered to the whole of europe.
sopra group has already a presence in spain with offices in madrid, bilbao, seville and valencia, with a total workforce of 2,000 people in spain. in total, the company has 14,000 workers worldwide, and a turnover of 1,200 million euros.
sopra’s services are mainly directed to the banking and insurance companies, as well as telecommunications, industry, distribution and public sector, mainly focusing the maintenance of applications.
