Technology company DigitalPA has set up its first subsidiary outside Italy in Barcelona as the first step of its international expansion. Specifically, DigitalPA has chosen Barcelona to start the process of internationalization of its whistleblowing software, which automates the process of anonymous complaints within organizations.
The company has more than 1,000 customers in Italy, such as Fincantieri, the City of Venice or the Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry. In addition to whistleblowing software, DigitalPA has also developed e-procurement solutions for administrations to optimize their procurement procedures.
"We prioritize Barcelona because its rich ITC ecosystem. We are convinced about introducing our whistleblowing software in Spain through Barcelona because the European Directive 2019/1937 will require to update the current legislation in Spain in this field", says Sandro Marsiglia, DigitalPA Country Manager in Barcelona. Therefore, a large number of companies and administrations will have to have a system to trace and monitor the process of anonymous complaints by their own staff and the stakeholders with whom they operate.
For its establishment in Barcelona, DigitalPA has had the support of Catalonia Trade & Investment office in Milan (Italy). Nowadays, with more than 800, Italy is the forth country with more subsidiaries established in Catalonia.
