Kage opens European HQ in Barcelona to boost logistics, tech development, and global growth in batteries and energy solutions.
Chinese group Kage, specialized in manufacturing batteries for motorcycles and high-performance vehicles, has chosen Barcelona ( Mataró) as the location for a new headquarters to serve the entire European market.
The new strategic center is located in Torre d’Ara, a seaside office and coworking complex that hosts companies such as Prosegur, Dawsongroup TCS Ibérica, Ibercerel, Viva Experience, and Prohima.

This space is complemented by a 1,000-square-meter warehouse in the same town, whose main goal is to organize product distribution across the continent—something much more difficult to do from China. According to the company, these facilities enable more efficient logistics, optimized customer service, and better profit margins for distributors.
Kage also aims to make Mataró (Barcelona) a key hub for technical development and a base for forging new strategic alliances in Europe. “Distributors and partners have a great opportunity to incorporate a leading, reliable brand with strong international growth: we are here to build something long-term,” explains Santi Diamant, Managing Director of Kage in Europe. The group has also decided to run its global marketing operations from Mataró, led by executive Gemma Sauret.
Guangzhou Kaijie Power Supply Industrial (Kage) was founded in Guangzhou in 1996 as a local company focused on the production and sale of all types of batteries, both original parts installed in vehicles at the factory (known as OE, or original equipment), and private-label or OEM (original equipment manufacturer) replacement parts.
Over time, the company has grown into an international brand present in over 100 countries, with an annual turnover of €212 million. It operates three production centers in China and has eight subsidiaries across North America, South America, and Southeast Asia. Its team in Catalonia is still small, with around 20 employees.
The company operates two main business lines: motorcycle batteries under the Motobatt and MTX Power brands, and energy solutions for residential, industrial, and telecommunications sectors. It has recently launched a line of accessories and spare parts under the MTX Parts brand.
Kage’s arrival coincides with a growing interest from Chinese automotive companies in the Spanish market. Manufacturers from the Asian giant have doubled their market share in just one year and were responsible for 8% of all new passenger car sales in the first half of 2025. In the motorcycle sector, the trend is similar: brands such as Voge, Zontes, CFMoto, QJ Motor, and Benelli, along with component manufacturers like Kage, are leading the expansion.
