According to the Minister for Business and Knowledge, Jordi Baiget, this new vote of confidence by Amazon in Catalonia, “is great news, not just for the direct jobs created, but also because it will represent a boost to our business, technological and digital ecosystem, as well an increase in the competitiveness of our small and medium sized companies”.
The Deputy Mayor for Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation from the Barcelona City Council, Jaume Collboni, also said that the investment was very positive as it "generated jobs for the city. Creating quality jobs is the main challenge we have as a city and news such as this reinforces Barcelona’s leadership role as a Mediterranean economic powerhouse," he said.
