Catalonia ranks second in the world regarding the number of trials per million inhabitants, only behind Denmark and surpassing countries such as the Netherlands or Switzerland.
Most top pharmaceutical companies choose Barcelona to run their trials. Catalonia leads Spain in the number of current patent families, making up 35% of the country’s total, above the Community of Madrid.
