Amazon has announced the opening of a new logistics station in Tarragona, south of Barcelona, this being its first operations center in the city area. The building will occupy an area of 9,000 square meters and will be located in the Constantí industrial park.
The logistics site will create more than 90 permanent full and part-time jobs, also favoring the creation of more than 200 indirect jobs for distributors of the collaborating companies. Operations are scheduled to start in October this year and will serve customers in Tarragona city and its surroundings.
This center will be Amazon’s ninth site in Catalonia. The company has three other logistics centers, a distribution center, an urban center (for the Amazon Fresh service), and three logistics stations. Also in Catalonia, Amazon has a Seller Support Hub and a Software Development Center.
