Germany's tui chooses barcelona to set up its corporate tourism unit

German tour operator tui has announced that it is to transfer its event management unit from hannover to barcelona. the multinational company has chosen the catalan capital because of its specialization and experience in the corporate travel segment. catalonia and spain are also very important markets, which represent an important percentage of tui's revenue.
barcelona-based tui event management unit will co-ordinate the organization of conferences, conventions, trade shows and incentive trips, a business with a yearly revenue of 55 million euros and 310 workers worldwide. the new unit will use the facilities of ultramar to manage the activity of over 70 offices in 33 countries. tui's event management new director will be delfí torns.
