Barcelona is a hotspot for digital hubs in Europe. International companies PepsiCo, Nestlé, Danone, and Cisco shared the reasons why they decided to set up their tech hubs in the city.
This was one of the activities of Tech Spirit Barcelona 2022, one of the main conventions held in Catalonia in the field of startups and digital companies.

PepsiCo installed its central digital hub in Barcelona, the biggest hub for PepsiCo internationally, aiming to reach 400 employees by the end of 2024. According to David Catrini, Global Digital Products Director - IBP at PepsiCo, Barcelona has an excellent startups ecosystem, multinational corporations, and universities.
Six years ago, Nestlé established its Global IT Hub in Barcelona, currently the most extensive digital hub in the city. It has 650 professionals of 52 different nationalities, 40% of them female.
Danone opened its first technological hub in Barcelona, creating 50 new jobs specializing in technology and data analysis. During the interview, Nicolas Cosqueric, CIO for Southern Europe at Danone, tells us that Barcelona has an excellent tech ecosystem with 2,000 startups, a renowned school system, and attractiveness to international talent.
American multinational company Cisco recently announced the opening of a semiconductor design center in Barcelona, which will be the first of its kind in the European Union. This new center will position Barcelona alongside the other Cisco sites in the US, India, Armenia, and Israel for the semiconductors sector.
