U.S., Catalonia join forces to study air safety

A group of u.s. national security officers met with representatives of catalonia’s international center for numerical methods in engineering (cimne) to work on a joint project on aviation safety.
the u.s. visit confirms the position of upc's cimne center as one the world’s leading institutions in the field of numerical studies of complex phenomena, such as the impact of an explosion on an airplane. cimne was born in 1987 and has offices in washington (usa), santa fe (argentina) and singapore. the cimne also offers training programs in ten other countries.
