The US technology group The Knot Worldwide, a world leader in the digital bridal sector, has chosen its headquarters in Barcelona as the place to take the group's technology hub to an international level. The company's new space will also serve to centralize its business in 14 markets in various countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The company has chosen to locate its global technology hub in Barcelona due to its privileged position in the tech sector, its ability to attract talent and because of the deep roots of Bodas.net, one of the group's main brands, in the city.
The group's international technology headquarters are currently located in Sant Cugat del Vallès, although it has a complementary technology centre in Barcelona. From both offices, housing around 500 employees, technological products will be developed, as well as various innovations for the global business.
Adding to this, the Barcelona office will coordinate over 850 employees from 23 nationalities, most with a tech background, and most being women (61.6%), a team that is expected to continue to expand in the near future.
According to Angel Rull, the President International of the company, “It is a major challenge for us to unify and lead the development of diverse, multicultural teams from Barcelona, all with the prospect of taking The Knot Worldwide's international business to its next level of growth.”
