
Telecoms, alternative energies, health and science, in Barcelona Hit Congress

Over 2,500 executives and entrepreneurs are expected to participate in the upcoming Hit Barcelona Congress, the world's meeting for innovation, science and biotechnology. The event, organized byFira de Barcelona and the Metropolitan Strategic Plan, will be held in the Catalan capital from June 17th through 19th and is expected to gather first-class projects with potential investors, director Aleix Planas said.
Projects include new techniques in areas such as medicine, climate change and astronomy. Also invited to the event are the 24 finalists of the Global Entrepreneurship Competition selected by leading universities in Tokyo, Berkeley, Munich and Bucharest; and the winner of the Entrepreneur XXI program, sponsored by local savings bank La Caixa. Companies expected to attend include Google, Siemens, Philips, Vodafone and Visa.
