Canadian group LCI Education has expanded its global footprint with the launch of a state-of-the-art campus in Barcelona, Catalonia.
The Canadian group LCI Education has expanded its global footprint with the launch of a state-of-the-art campus in Barcelona (Catalonia). This new European hub represents a major milestone for LCI Education, a global education organization that operates 12 institutions across five continents, welcoming over 20,000 students from more than 130 countries each year. LCI Barcelona offers advanced programs in design, fashion, animation, and digital technology.
Located in Barcelona’s dynamic 22@ district, a neighbourhood renowned for its innovation and creativity, the 11,000m2 facility marks a €33 million euro investment. According to the company’s release, it will contribute significantly to the city’s economy, generating over €40 million in the next five years. The new hub serves as a beacon of international education, offering learners access to cutting-edge education experiences in one of Europe’s most vibrant cities.
The European hub exemplifies LCI Education’s commitment to both innovation and sustainability. Certified by BREEAM® for its eco-friendly design, the new LCI Barcelona campus aligns with Canada’s leadership in environmental responsibility. The facilities include specialized FabLabs, photography labs, and collaborative workspaces, all designed to inspire creativity among the 2,500 students expected to study at the campus.

With nearly a century of history, LCI Barcelona continues to build on its rich legacy. Originally established in 1928 as a fashion school, it now offers a wide array of programs in design, communication, and technology.
To celebrate the inauguration of the European hub, LCI Education has introduced a scholarship program aimed at Canadian students. Over the next three years, 20 annual scholarships will be awarded, with a total investment of $1.2 million. The scholarships are open to students and graduates from LaSalle College in Montreal and Vancouver who wish to continue their studies at LCI Barcelona.
Catalonia boasts a large pool of highly qualified local and international talent, supported by 12 universities offering 591 degrees and 687 Master’s programs. The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) ranks 1st in Europe in scientific production in Mathematics and Computer Sciences, while Pompeu Fabra University ranks 15th among the world’s best young universities.
