
Europastry to invest 12 million Euros in product innovation

Frozen bakery company Europastry is to invest 12.3 million Euros (3.4% of its revenue) in innovation and research activities. The company plans to reinforce the nutritional aspects of its bakery products marketed under the brands Frida, Fripan and Dots. Europastry wishes to adapt its products to the new guidelines promoted by Spain’s Health Ministry in order to prevent childhood obesity and improve eating habits. The company has already introduced a new line of mini-muffins with 40% less fat.
Europastry is a leader in the Spanish market of frozen bakery. In 2008, it posted revenue of 360 million Euros.
