Cisco systems, the multinational it firm is to invest €5 million in opening a new innovation centre in barcelona. the project falls within the partnership agreement signed with barcelona city hall two years ago to “convert the city into a benchmark for the smart city model worldwide in terms of welfare and the quality of life of its citizens.” first choice is the former textile factory ca l’alier, which first needs a complete makeover. in the meantime the city council is looking for a temporary base for the firm to start up activities here.
