Catalonia is taking part in the European Business Summit, an annual two-day event hosted in Brussels that gathers over 2,000 participants and 250 speakers. This summit is one of the most influential debating and networking platforms in Europe and has the goal of connecting business representatives and key EU decision-makers.
In particular, the CEO of Catalonia Trade & Investment, Joan Romero, will meet with international companies with the aim of promoting Catalonia as a destination for foreign investment. Romero will also participate in the discussion panel “Catalonia Tech Hub: your Research and Innovation Center in Southern Europe”, which will focus on Catalonia’s R+D system. Representatives of multinational corporations such as Microsoft, Huawei and Brightsight will also take part in the event, which will be attended by some twenty companies and businesspeople.
Catalonia Trade & Investment is the Catalan Government's agency for foreign investment and business competitiveness, which promotes innovation, internationalisation, trade and funding of Catalan companies and start-ups. It operates from Barcelona alongside a network of 40 foreign trade and investment offices around the world. In fact, Catalonia Trade & Investment opened an office in Brussels in 1989, which covers three markets: Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
