Catalonia was a pioneer region in implementing cluster policies to improve the efficiency of companies through a strategic planning, according to a new book on clusters and competitiveness in catalonia presented by the catalan department of innovation, universities and enterprise.
the book reflects on the challenges and opportunities of these policies and discusses their various stages throughout the years, with special emphasis on the 2009 strategy reorientation, prompted by changes in the industrial model and recommendations from the european commission.
