s::can is one of the 11 Catalan companies and organizations that participated until Wednesday in the Singapore business mission organized by Catalonia Trade & Investment - the public agency for business competitiveness headed by the Director General for Industry, Núria Betriu. The trip was designed to coincide with the celebration of the most important fairs in Asia in the fields of water, environment and smart cities: the World Cities Summit, the Singapore International Water Week and Clean Enviro Summit.
The Catalan companies held personal meetings with Asian and other worldwide companies in these three areas, set up by the Catalonia Trade & Investment office in Singapore in collaboration with business entities in the country. Catalan companies explored potential customers and local partners to introduce themselves and expand their presence in the country. They also visited various government agencies in Singapore.
On her side, the Director General for Industry held meetings with companies from Singapore looking into investing in Catalonia. At the end of the mission she met with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the National Research Foundation – which sets the guidelines for R&D and national innovation – and Singapore Manufacturing Federation, the country’s largest business federation, among others.
