Alimentaria 2024 food show expects 100,000 attendees in Barcelona next week

Alimentaria, one of Europe's largest events for the food and beverage industry, is preparing to host its 2024 edition in Barcelona from March 18th to 21st.

Alimentaria, one of Europe's largest events for the food and beverage industry, is preparing to host its 2024 edition in Barcelona next week, expecting 100,000 visitors. From March 18 to 21, the Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue will host 3,200 participating companies in what will be one of the editions with the highest participation of international companies and professionals.

Of the 3,200 exhibiting companies, 28% (900) will come from outside Spain. This is a 125% increase over the last edition in 2022. In addition, 25% of the expected 100,000 visitors will come from more than 120 countries, consolidating its position as the leading European platform for the sector.

Alimentaria 2024 will address the main challenges and trends in the sector, such as functional foods, sustainability and AI, through more than 350 activities and demonstrations by 700 renowned experts and chefs.

Alimentaria 2024 will be one of the platforms with the largest cross-sector offer in the international arena, with the largest number of meat, food service and hospitality sectors represented. This upcoming edition puts the emphasis on the Horeca channel and combines the exhibition offer of Hostelco, the International Exhibition of Equipment and Machinery for Restaurants, Catering and Food Service, with Restaurama, the Alimentaria exhibition specialized in food service.

ACCIÓ- Catalonia Trade & Investment is participating in Alimentaria 2024 through the Catalonia Pavilion, which will feature 10 Catalan companies in the alternative protein and foodtech sectors. The stand will be located in Pavilion H4 (stand B251) and the participating companies wilbe as follows:
