Abantia to invest 128 million in catalonia's first solar power plant

Engineering group abantia plans to invest 128 million euros in the construction of catalonia's first solar power plant. the facility, with a capacity of 25 mw, is to be located in les borges blanques, in an area of 780,000 square meters. construction is expected to start in the third quarter of 2009, and the plant should be in full operation by mid 2011.
the project will be led by catalan group termosolar borges and will allow the creation of 20 jobs. abantia, which has received support from the catalan government, is also negotiating a 90 million euros loan with financial institutions. in 2007, the group posted revenue of 256 million euros.
