Sharp España moves into new headquarters in Cornellà de Llobregat

The consumer electronics giant sharp has just unveiled its new spanish operations base in the world trade center almeda park in cornellà de llobregat (barcelona).
the new main office will also house its centre of excellence, manned by a highly skilled r+d+i unit, who will be in charge of developing new products for its lcd aquos television range for the brand in europe.
apart from research and sales, cornellà has also been chosen to lead the new european consumer electronics management operation, which will entail both the planning and control as well as design and development of key consumer electronic products for sharp’s european market.
the grand opening of the new premises was attended by the vice-president of the catalan government, joana ortega, the japanese consul in barcelona, hidehiro tsubaki, sharp europe’s executive director and the ceo of the firm in spain, ventura pobre. the new offices have also set aside space to provide a showroom and exhibition area for the latest novelties in consumer electronics, multifunctional systems, and giant screens and displays, as well as solar panels and led lighting.
sharp put down roots in catalonia back in 1986, when it opened its first manufacturing base, making televisions and other consumer electronics goods for the european market.
