The company with headquarters in France and that manufactures plastic components for the automotive industry, has introduced new technologies to enhance automation, quality control, and energy efficiency.
The company Novares has invested 2.2 million euros to modernize and expand its plant in La Pobla de Claramunt (Barcelona). Headquartered in France, Novares specializes in manufacturing plastic components for the automotive sector. With this investment, the company has implemented new technologies in automation, quality control, and energy efficiency, with the aim of boosting both sustainability and competitiveness.
The project has received support from ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment, with 225,000 euros in funding via the High-Impact Business Projects program.
Novares’ plant in La Pobla de Claramunt, which covers nearly 30,000 square meters, focuses on injection molding, painting, and assembly processes for plastic components used by major automotive manufacturers. This investment has allowed the company to integrate a robotic bonding cell for spoiler assembly, pillar assembly stations with artificial vision systems, WIPS carts for internal logistics, and next-generation painting robots designed for use in explosive-risk (ATEX) environments.
Tier 1 Automotive Supplier
According to Pere Masdeu, Plant Director at Novares, "These improvements enable us to increase precision, reduce defects, enhance internal safety, and lower both energy and paint consumption". He adds, "This positions Novares as a key technology provider in the automotive sector, improving product quality and making our processes more sustainable".
This investment has allowed Novares to maintain and stabilize its workforce, which currently includes 305 employees. As a Tier 1 automotive supplier, the company sells its products directly to manufacturers such as Renault, Stellantis, SEAT, and Nissan. The La Pobla de Claramunt plant, operational since 1997, is a strategic site for the French group in Spain, where it also operates a production facility in Toledo.
