New York fund XY Booster sets up an innovation hub in Barcelona to focus on impactful projects

Barcelona will be the home of an innovation hub for creating impactful projects. The hub, called Q House, will be led by Robert Monturiol, CEO of the New York-based fund XY Booster. Following an investment of 5 million euros, the center will focus on social impact initiatives benefiting 400 individuals, with a preference for projects led by neurodivergent individuals and women.

The hub is designed to host startups funded by XY in the United States and projects outside the group as long as they align with its values. According to Robert Monturiol, CEO of the New York-based fund XY Booster, "In the future, we plan to allocate another 100 million and create two new funds, one focused on women's projects and the other on neurodivergent professionals". Monturiol has decided to bet in Barcelona because of his personal connection and its vibrant, innovative ecosystem.

XY Booster will open a seven-story club in the heart of Barcelona, in a passage very close to Passeig de Gràcia, and will house the company's offices and the teams of the startups it supports, as well as a 4.0 laboratory focused on robotics, prototyping, virtual reality, and 3D printing. The building will also have areas for corporate activities with a capacity of up to 340 people and a private social club for employees and external professionals within a hub that aims to generate synergies and strategic business and socio-cultural relationships.

The Barcelona hub follows the opening of offices in New York and San Francisco, as well as another women-only hub in Mexico.
