Iguzzini opens new spanish operations base in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona

The multinational lighting specialist, iguzzini has just opened its corporative and logistical headquarters in spain, following an investment of €25 million. the architecturally avant-garde operations centre, located in sant cugat del vallès, will house its administrative and logistic operations, as well as a new showroom to replace the two centres the italian company previously ran in barcelona and rubí. the interior and exterior lighting experts were keen to underline the importance of the new centre’s architectural value designed by josep mías, with a built surface area of 6,300m2 at a cost of some 25% above that of a more conventional plant.
"more than a mere consolidation of where we are now, i consider this to be the beginning of something new against the backdrop of difficult times for the european economy. the message we want to put out with the new spanish headquarters is one of confidence and the will to continue investing in order to grow,” insisted paolo guzzini, company ceo in spain in the press conference.
iguzzini’s turnover for the current financial year in spain is estimated at €25 million, representing about 10% of the spanish architectural lighting market – its core business, while combined turnover for the group is forecast to reach €190 million. international business accounts for 70% of total sales of the italian multinational founded in 1959, with spain notching up 13% of the entire sales of the group
