Guissona expected to finish the expansion of its meat products plant by year's end

Catalan meat products group corporación guissona is expected to finish by year's end the expansion of its la closa plant, in guissona. the new 80 million euro facility will allow to double the meat processing area to 180,000 square meters.

corporación guissona, which in 2009 is celebrating 50 years in business, has a network of 343 stores under the bon àrea brand and plans to open 25 more throughout this year. guissona is lleida's leading company in terms of work force, with 3,253 employees. in 2007, the group posted revenue of 981 million euros and a net profit of 36.8 million euros.
