De Rijke Group, a Dutch logistics company, has opened its new headquarters in Barcelona, enhancing logistics capacity, sustainability, and chemical storage capabilities.
The Netherlands-based De Rijke Group has announced the opening of its new centralized logistics facility at the G-Park in Santa Perpètua (Barcelona), developed by GLP, a global leader in logistics real estate. The new site will serve as the company’s Spanish headquarters and logistics operations centre.
This strategic investment marks a significant milestone for De Rijke Spain, enabling the consolidation of its operations into a single, state-of-the-art facility. The move is designed to optimize service delivery, enhance operational efficiency, and support the company’s growth roadmap within the Iberian market.

“Our relocation to G-Park Santa Perpètua reflects a strategic decision to streamline operations and unlock synergies across logistics, storage, and transportation,” said Mike Schreuders, Country Manager at De Rijke Spain. “The infrastructure positions us to scale, explore new market segments, and offer faster, more reliable services to our customers.”
The new warehouse spans 14,348 m², offering an increase of over 40% in pallet capacity, from 9,000 to 13,000 units. Equipped with 15 loading docks and a clear height of 11.7 meters, the facility is designed to accommodate high-volume, flexible logistics activities with room for future expansion.
The Barcelona hub includes specialized temperature-controlled areas and complies with APQ-10 standards for the safe storage of hazardous chemicals. The site features advanced containment systems that meet the highest safety and environmental standards, reflecting the Group’s ongoing commitment to quality and compliance.
De Rijke has also strengthened its logistics footprint by expanding its fleet to 27 trucks and increasing personnel to 36 employees as of 2024, demonstrating its commitment to job creation in the region.
The facility holds a BREEAM “Excellent” certification, underscoring De Rijke’s dedication to sustainable and future-proof infrastructure. This aligns with the company’s broader environmental strategy, which includes a target to reduce CO₂ emissions by 30% by 2030.
De Rijke’s sustainability efforts are recognized through multiple industry initiatives and certifications, including the Ecovadis Gold Medal for its Northern European operations and participation in programs such as Green Mile and Lean and Green.
By locating in Barcelona, a strategic logistics hub with exceptional connectivity via road and port infrastructure, De Rijke Group reinforces its long-term commitment to Spain and its role as a key logistics player in southern Europe.
