The Minister for Business and Labour, Miquel Sàmper, is leading an institutional mission to Mexico this week with the goal to promote trade relations between Catalonia and Mexico, particularly in sectors such as automotive and technology.

The business mission has been organized by Catalonia Trade & Investment's Office in Mexico City.

In total, the delegation led by Minister Sàmper will meet with some fifteen companies during the visit. The agenda includes a meeting with executives from the Catalan Business Club of Mexico, a private association of entrepreneurs with ties to Catalonia. The organization brings together more than 80 members from Mexican companies, Catalan firms operating in Mexico, and multinationals established in the country. Representatives from sectors such as banking and finance, engineering and telecommunications, and consulting and technological services will attend the meeting.

The mission also includes meetings with representatives of the automotive and transport sectors. The Catalan delegation will hold discussions with executives from the Asociación Industrial Nacional de Autopartes (INA), an organization representing more than 700 automotive component manufacturing plants based in Mexico. Around twenty Catalan companies in this field are members of the association.

In parallel, the Minister for Business and Labour will also lead a working meeting with representatives of Mexican technology companies interested in investing in Catalonia. Participants will include members from firms such as NetWorth FinAdvisor (fintech), Overty (data management and processing), Alldatum Business (data security and artificial intelligence services), and Nowports (international logistics). In addition, the Catalan delegation will meet with a Mexican-owned pharmaceutical company, among others.

As part of the trip, Minister Sàmper and the Catalan delegation will also meet with representatives of the Mexican Formula 1 organization at the circuit in the country.
