International investment in Catalonia continues to grow as Brazilian packaging company Raft Embalagens announces a €12 million project in Valls (Tarragona).
The Brazilian company Raft Embalagens has selected Valls (Tarragona) as the location for its first industrial facility in Europe, reinforcing Catalonia’s position as a strategic hub for international manufacturing investment.
The company, which specializes in packaging, storage, and transport solutions, will invest more than €12 million in a new production plant located in the Valls industrial park. This move is part of Raft Embalagens’ broader international expansion strategy aimed at strengthening its presence in the European market.
Industrial activity set to begin in September
Assembly work on the new facility is scheduled to start in June, with operations expected to begin by September 2026. The plant will initially operate from a 6,500 m2 industrial unit, with plans for future expansion as the company scales its European operations.
The project will create 15 jobs in its initial phase, with projections to reach a workforce of up to 60 employees within three years. This growth reflects the company’s long-term commitment to consolidating its footprint in Europe.
Strategic location in Catalonia
Raft Embalagens’ decision to invest in Valls highlights Catalonia’s competitive advantages for international companies, including excellent connectivity and proximity to key logistics infrastructures such as the Port of Barcelona and major road networks.
With more than 40 years of experience in Brazil, Raft Embalagens has built a strong reputation for innovation and customized industrial packaging solutions. Its products are designed to enhance product protection, optimize logistics, and improve efficiency across multiple industries, with an increasing focus on sustainability.
Boosting local industry and employment
The arrival of Raft Embalagens will further strengthen the industrial ecosystem of Valls, contributing to the diversification of the local economy and adding value to an already well-established manufacturing base.
The project is being supported by Vallsgenera, which will assist the company during its implementation phase, including recruitment and workforce training for the new plant.
This new investment underscores Catalonia’s attractiveness as a destination for global companies seeking to expand in Europe, offering a dynamic business environment, skilled talent, and world-class infrastructure.
