Barcelona-based tech company Typeform closes $135 million in a Series C round

Typeform, a no-code SaaS platform based in Barcelona, announced that it has raised $135 million in Series C funding led by investment company Sofina. This latest funding takes Typeform’s total investment to more than $187 million and brings the company’s valuation one step closer to achieving unicorn status.
Returning investors including General Atlantic, Index Ventures, Point Nine Capital and Connect Ventures, as well as new investors Top Tier Capital Partners, GP Bullhound, Teamworthy Ventures and Trium Venture Partners, also participated in the round.
"We’re grateful for the support and guidance of our investors as we continue to build robust full-funnel solutions, expand our global team and help customers engage their audiences and grow their businesses by enabling more immersive online, asynchronous, human-led experiences", said Joaquim Lecha, CEO at Typeform.
Typeform is headquartered in Barcelona with an office in San Francisco, California, and has a globally distributed workforce of over 450 people. Typeform has increased its headcount 35 percent year-over-year and built a team that represents more than 55 nationalities.
"We’ve driven steady, efficient revenue growth, reaching more than $70 million ARR in 2021, up 3x from 2018, and we still see a massive market opportunity ahead", said Lecha.
Typeform is used by more than 125,000 businesses worldwide and drives over 500 million interactions every year across both paid and free products. Its products can integrate with hundreds of other business tools like HubSpot, Calendly, or Slack.
Investments in Catalan startups
In 2021, startups in Barcelona- Catalonia raised €1,479M in investment, a figure that has increased 246% compared to the volume attracted in 2020 and is the highest on record. The Barcelona & Catalonia Startup Hub gathers information about over 1,900 startups based in Catalonia.
