ARaymond opens new plant in Catalonia with a €15 million investment

​​​​​​ARaymond has opened its new plant in Sallent (Barcelona), following an investment of €15 million. The French-owned company, which specialises in the design and manufacture of fastening and assembly systems for the automotive, renewable energy, industrialised construction and agricultural sectors, has opened a new 17,700 m² facility bringing its production, logistics and administrative operations together at a single site.

ARaymond received support for the project from ACCIÓ–Catalonia Trade & Investment, the business growth agency belonging to the Ministry for Business and Labor. The Secretary for Business and Innovation and CEO of ACCIÓ–Catalonia Trade & Investment, Jaume Baró, took part in the opening ceremony of the new facilities, alongside company representatives and members of the region’s institutional and business community.

The new plant, located in the Plans de la Sala industrial estate in Sallent, brings together all the operations of ARaymond Tecniacero and ARaymond Distribution Services, the group’s two companies in Spain, previously based in Sant Fruitós de Bages. As a result of the investment and the increase in production capacity, ARaymond Tecniacero expects to increase its turnover by more than 25% over the next five years.

The new facilities, which employ 160 people, comprise 9,000 m² of production space, 6,200 m² of warehousing and 2,500 m² of offices. They occupy a site of almost 50,000 m², providing room for future expansion. The new plant will enable the company to improve operational efficiency, increase the group’s industrial capabilities and strengthen the service it provides to international markets from Catalonia.

According to the CEO of ACCIÓ–Catalonia Trade & Investment, Jaume Baró, “this project once again demonstrates that Catalonia has the assets companies need to expand their investments and continue growing.” Referring to the company’s track record, he added: “More than a century and a half in business worldwide and over 50 years in Catalonia are no accident. They are the direct result of an unwavering commitment to excellence and a constant ability to reinvent itself.”

The plant also incorporates rainwater recovery systems, measures to improve the building’s thermal insulation, energy recovery mechanisms and systems that reuse heat generated by industrial processes. These measures form part of the company’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its operations and developing a more sustainable production model.

Present in Catalonia since 1972, ARaymond Tecniacero and ARaymond Distribution Services are the Catalan subsidiaries of the French ARaymond group. From its Sallent plant, the company covers the entire value chain, from design and engineering to the manufacture and marketing of its products, which are exported to markets throughout Europe and around the world. In 2025, ARaymond recorded turnover of €49 million in Catalonia.

Founded in Grenoble, France, in 1865, ARaymond is known for its founder’s invention of the metal snap fastener. More than 160 years after it was established, the multinational remains family-owned and employs more than 8,000 people worldwide. It operates in 25 countries and has 28 manufacturing plants globally. In 2025, the company recorded global turnover of €1.6 billion.

The Catalan Government’s drive to attract foreign investment

The Government of Catalonia has launched a new strategy to attract, secure and retain foreign investment in Catalonia for the 2026–2030 period. Its goal is to secure 600 foreign investment projects representing €6 billion in investment — including reinvestment by subsidiaries of foreign companies already operating in Catalonia — and to create and maintain 45,000 jobs. The Government has also set a target of reaching 10,000 foreign company subsidiaries in Catalonia.
