Orangina to conduct research in Tordera for Suntory group

Major japanese beverage group suntory is to conduct new projects on spanish soil. the firm has entrusted the research and development centre of orangina schweppes in tordera (maresme) with a number of innovation initiatives for other brands within the group.
“this is the only r+d+i centre that suntory runs outside of japan and our aim is to exploit our facilities to the full,” underlined luis bach, president of orangina schweppes and board member of suntory upon the announcement of the new developments.
the tordera facility employs 40 people and aims to attract new global research projects to “enable us to achieve significant growth in the workforce over the long term,” added the director. “we wish to play a major role in the research activities of the group from spain, with the centre working on a global scale for other brands than orangina schweppes as well,” bach went on to explain.
orangina schweppes is the world’s third largest beverage manufacturer behind only coca cola and pepsico.
