
Three catalan universities granted the campus of international excellence certification

Three catalan universities have received the campus of international excellence (cei) distinction from the spanish ministries of education and science and technology. universitat autònoma de barcelona (uab) and the alliance of universitat de barcelona and universitat politècnica de catalunya (ub-upc) will now get more than eur 30 million in interest-free loans for their projects.
the uab plans to prioritize research in nanoscience and biotechnology, increase internationalization and attract new talents. meanwhile, the ub-upc alliance, also known as barcelona knowledge campus, will focus on strengthening its international appeal with a wide range of master and ph.d. programs.
the cei project aims at positioning spanish universities in the world’s top 100 institutions while promoting the modernization of the spanish higher education system.
