Three Barcelona business schools among the world’s top executive education institutions in the Financial Times global ranking

Barcelona and Catalonia's business schools play a key role in attracting international students and professionals to the region’s executive education sector.
Catalonia’s business education ecosystem has once again gained international recognition in the latest Financial Times Executive Education Rankings 2026, with several business schools based in Barcelona and Catalonia featured among the world’s leading institutions for executive training.
According to the Financial Times rankings, IESE Business School ranked 3rd worldwide in Open Programs, followed by Esade Business School in 5th position and IE Business School in 10th place. EADA Business School Barcelona also appeared in the global ranking, placing 25th.
The Open Programs ranking evaluates executive education courses for professionals and managers across various companies and sectors.
In the Custom Programs ranking, which assesses executive education tailored specifically for companies and organizations, IESE Business School ranked 7th globally. Esade Business School placed 11th, while EADA Business School Barcelona ranked 25th.
The Financial Times highlighted the strong international outlook and competitiveness of Spanish business schools, with eight institutions from Spain appearing among the world’s top executive education providers.
The rankings are based on participant and client evaluations, as well as school-reported data. Criteria include course design, teaching methods and materials, faculty quality, international reach, follow-up after programs, and value for money.
Barcelona and Catalonia have established themselves as one of Europe’s leading hubs for business education and talent development, attracting executives, professionals, and companies from around the world.
The Financial Times Executive Education Rankings are regarded as one of the most prestigious international benchmarks for executive and corporate training.
The recognition of Catalan business schools further reinforces Catalonia’s reputation as a hub for qualified talent and executive development in Europe.
