the japanese company tachi-s has invested 5 million euros in a production line that supplies seats for nissan vehicles. the new line is located in nissan facilities in zona franca (barcelona).
the japanese multinational has initially created 14 jobs and has had the support of the investment attraction area of accio, the catalan government agency for business competitiveness. toshiaki maehara, general director of the catalan branch, and mieko nagai, head of operations, have met felip puig, minister for business and labour of the catalan government, and nuria betriu, ceo of accio.
since 1954, tachi-s produces seats for worldwide leading automobile brands such as nissan, honda, toyota and mitsubishi. the japanese company employs more than 7,600 people around the world and has a turnover of €1,795 million. tachi-s is present in 13 countries such as japan, usa, china, canada, the uk or france, where, in 2004 established its european headquarters.
