
Telefónica to complete optic fibre roll out

Telefónica aims to have brought fibre optic cable within reach of all barcelona households by next july. the installation of fibre optic lines will enable users to reach a connection speed of 100 megabytes for uploading and downloading information. when finally complete, this will make barcelona into spain’s first city with full fibre optic coverage.
in order to meet the requirements of the job, telefónica has taken on a further 1,300 new workers, among which are engineers, sales staff, network construction technicians and home installers, all adding to the 700 new employees based at the firm’s recently opened call centre in the city.
