Ros Roca, a subsidiary of the Dutch group Terberg, has inaugurated new facilities in Lleida, Catalonia, where 200 jobs have been created over the past three years.
Ros Roca, a subsidiary of the Dutch group Terberg, inaugurated a new production plant in Tàrrega (Catalonia) on Friday, following an investment of €25 million. The project has created 200 jobs in the past three years. The expansion increases the company’s facilities to 96,000 m2, dedicated to the production of different models of waste collection vehicles, with a total manufacturing capacity of 2,000 units per year.
The expansion project was supported by Catalonia Trade & Investment. The company has also benefited from grants under the High-Impact Business Investment Scheme for other projects.
The opening ceremony of the new plant was attended by the Minister for Business and Labour, Miquel Sàmper, along with the Secretary for Business and Competitiveness and CEO of Catalonia Trade & Investment, Jaume Baró.

Miquel Sàmper, Minister of Business and Labour, commented during the inauguration, "These new facilities not only represent a significant economic investment but also a strong commitment to sustainable development, technological innovation, Catalonia, and the creation of quality jobs". He added, "From the Government of Catalonia, we are committed to supporting projects that boost the competitiveness of our industrial fabric, generate stable employment, and promote environmental responsibility".
Founded in Tàrrega (Lleida), Ros Roca merged in 2016 with the Dutch group Terberg, marking the latter’s entry into Catalonia. According to Pere Petit, head of Ros Roca and COO of the group’s European division: "With this expansion project, we are responding to the need to continue growing in size and production capacity in an efficient way".
Part of the investment has been allocated to new machinery and process automation. Furthermore, the company also plans to continue expanding its facilities in later phases. As Petit noted, "a large part of our future growth will come from international markets, because in Tàrrega we are the group’s hub for the design and production of waste collection bodies for the entire world".
Seventy percent of the output of the Tàrrega plant is exported, mainly to European markets such as France, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Portugal, as well as to more distant locations such as Malaysia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Latin America.
Ros Roca has annual revenues of around €163 million and employs more than 600 people. The Catalan company closed 2024 with production of over 15,000 containers and 1,400 waste collection bodies. For its part, the Terberg group, with more than 150 years of history and family origins, employs over 3,000 people worldwide and has revenues of €1.3 billion. The multinational has operations in some 40 countries and exports to more than 100 markets.
In addition to the Tàrrega facility, it operates three other production plants in Europe as well as distribution centers and subsidiaries around the world.
