PepsiCo's digital hub celebrates its first year, consolidating itself as one of the world's leaders in Barcelona's digital and technological sectors.
PepsiCo’s tech hub in Barcelona will employ around 400 people by 2024. Inaugurated one year ago, the offices in Catalonia currently have a team of 150 workers of 30 different nationalities, 33% of whom are women, mainly in data science and analytics. The company is committed to reducing the gender gap in the ICT sector and boosting female talent for a more diverse and inclusive organization.
Gaston Besanson, VP and Global Head of Data Science at PepsiCo, says about Pepsico's hub in Barcelona: "Our hub is a fundamental engine and pillar of the company's digital transformation strategy at a global level. The center is at the company's service and is a meeting point between business knowledge, finding solutions, and the necessary technology. In this first year, we have recruited great digital talent, focusing on diversity. We are proud to have 33% women on the team".
To achieve this goal, the company collaborates with Barcelona Digital Talent and the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation program to promote the training and recruitment of digital talent in the city. They have also joined initiatives such as the All-Women School's Gender Equality Tech Hub network, which promotes digital and technological skills for women.

According to PepsiCo's release, one year after launching its global digital hub, PepsiCo's commitment to Barcelona remains firm due to its rich ecosystem made up of start-ups, technology centers, ICT companies, and universities in the city, as well as its ability to create and retain digital talent, which makes the Catalan capital a thriving European benchmark.
Currently, the company is recruiting profiles with high digital capabilities, such as Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers.
