Panasonic, the global japanese technology company, has joined forces with ficosa, involved in research and development, manufacturing and marketing of automotive systems and components, and whose headquarters are in barcelona, catalonia. what interested panasonic in ficosa was its area of expertise in automotive mirror backgrounds and technology, which perfectly complements panasonic’s own area of specialisation in state of the art display technology. thanks to this alliance, they can together speed up the launch of innovative electronic and technologically advanced automotive mirrors that create a comfortable and safe driving experience.
not only is the union beneficial from a technological standpoint, but also from a marketing perspective. they will engage in cross-selling activities to speed up the expansion of panasonic’s infotainment systems such as display audio and devices, thanks to ficosa’s strong sales force in european and american oem customers. furthermore ficosa will see its international presence reinforced especially with japanese oems, promoting specific products such as camera washer systems, telematics control units and shift by wire applications.
