
Inditex's bershka to open a logistics platform in catalonia

Spanish group inditex plans to open a new 65,000 square-meter logistics platform in palafolls next june. the new facilities are to receive a 100 million euros investment and will work exclusively for bershka, the group’s brand for young trendy customers. 2009 will also see bershka getting important investments as it prepares to enter the chinese market.
the new palafolls platform will get clothing items manufactured in spain, portugal and morocco (50%), europe (20%) and asia (30%), to be distributed to 590 stores in 39 countries. bershka will end 2009 with 55 new stores, 90% of them outside of spain. in catalonia, inditex has a logistics complex in tordera which is to continue to distribute the oysho and massimo dutti brands.
